Stan Collymore predicts Tottenham v West Ham
By Harvey Byrne
Outspoken pundit and former striker Stan Collymore believes Tottenham will complete a straightforward victory over West Ham.
The two London clubs are setting themselves up to meet at the London Stadium on Friday evening in the 8.00pm kick off.
It will be the first time that Spurs will have travelled to the Olympic ground and when Tottenham last face the Hammers in November they needed a late double from Harry Kane to complete a 3-2 victory at White Hart Lane.
But, Collymore believes it will be easier for the north London club this time around and despite predicting a tight 2-1 scoreline, he has also suggested that Tottenham will be on top of the game.
“West Ham United against Tottenham Hotspur,” started Collymore in a video for Boyle Sports.
“A feisty, spiteful derby. They do not like each other. Not too far away from each other of course Spurs are north east London, West Ham in the east. Looking at the table, you would say on the face of it this has to be Spurs.
“Unbeaten in their last nine games in the Premier League. Four clean sheets in their last games, three draws for the happy Hammers under two and a half goals I think in the last three home games for West Ham.
“I’m going to go just over the two and a half goals. I think there will be three goals in it. I think that Tottenham Hotspur will win the game and I think that they will win the game by two goals to one.
“I think they will go into a clear lead. It will be Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, or Christian Eriksen. The usual suspects weighing in.
“They’re on fire, they’re hot, so expect the usual suspects to be on the score sheet for the Lilywhites
“As for West Ham United they are just going to be seeing out their season. There’s still a little bit of work left to do to get over the finish line and of course lots of rumours and speculation as to whether Slaven Bilic will keep his job in the summer time. Rafa Benitez, that rumour will not go away. Watch out for that one over the summer time.
“Maybe it’s just Rafa Benitez angling for a few quid off Mike Ashley at Newcastle United, but I’m going to go for a quite straightforward Tottenham Hotspur to go two goals up. West Ham to come back into it later in the game with an Ayew, or with an Andy Carroll cross into the box. Fairly functional goal for West Ham United. I think it will be an entertaining game, but I think that Spurs will start and finish well and it will be their game again from start to finish.
“West Ham United 1-2 Tottenham.”
Tottenham are currently sat in second place in the Premier League table with four matches left.
They will fall to within a point of league leaders Chelsea with a win on Friday with the Blues scheduled to host Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, West Ham are seven points clear of the relegation with three matches left themselves and a home victory will see them guarantee their place in next season’s Premier League.
