Collymore spoke in a positive manner about the England international calling him “special” and suggesting that he could one day captain his country.
The 21-year-old has come in for some criticism as of late, with even his manager Mauricio Pochettino referring to the star’s dip in form when addressing the media ahead of the Real Madrid game.
However, Pochettino kept his faith in the highly-rated ace and started him in the Real Madrid game, allowing him to make his first Champions League appearance of the season.

Alli had missed Spurs’ three previous games in the competition as he was serving a suspension that he received in the Europa League last season.
Pochettino’s decision to stick by the star was rewarded as Alli scored two of Spurs’ three goals, in their impressive 3-1 victory over Real Madrid.
The midfielder opened the scoring on Wednesday night, converting Kieran Trippier’s cross from close range.
He grabbed his second goal of the night which doubled Tottenham’s lead when his shot was deflected in by Sergio Ramos.
In other Tottenham Hotspur news, this Sky Sports pundit has expressed his concerns over Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League title.
