‘Standing ovation’ – Everton fans blown away by what ‘class’ star did in win vs Fulham
Everton supporters gave a special mention to one player who was reinstated to the lineup by David Moyes against Fulham.
Idrissa Gueye was one of Everton’s standout players, scoring the opener at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, 8 November, before Michael Keane headed home in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
Marco Silva has been linked with a Fulham exit, and their performance against the Toffees will do nothing to convince him that he is the manager to take the Cottagers any further.
The Toffees certainly have Moyes’ tactics to thank for completely shutting out the visitors, and one of the key changes was bringing Tim Iroegbunam back into the starting lineup.

Everton fans impressed by Tim Iroegbunam vs Fulham
Iroegbunam only has four Premier League starts to his name, but nonetheless, he was incredibly key to victory. It meant James Garner being pushed to right-back to accommodate all players, though.
One supporter even wanted to give the midfielder a “standing ovation”, while another, although he admitted that the player is still very “raw”, praised his difference in the middle of the park.
Moyes was forced to replace him in the 67th minute after he picked up a yellow card, his fourth of the campaign, but he kept the Cottagers extremely quiet in front of Jordan Pickford‘s goal.
- @Skipp_Marley: “Tim Iroegbunam, warra performance.”
- @APKerry: “Iroegbunam is currently a much better player than Rohl for us, thought he had a great game. Hopefully, Rohl gets more used to the league, but hasn’t got much awareness on the ball imo.”
What did David Moyes think of his team’s performance vs Fulham?
Moyes appeared more than happy with his players after securing all three points in front of a packed-out home crowd, and it could not have come at a better time after some rocky results recently.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, the manager said: “The result and the performance were both very good… To get the three points was vital for us, but look, I thought we deserved it. I thought we played some really good stuff at times.”
The Toffees have slipped down to 11th in the Premier League table, below the likes of Crystal Palace and Brighton, but there is still plenty of time for them to rediscover their form.
