Stefan Borson drops verdict on Tottenham sacking Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is under pressure as speculation continues around his future following his side’s disappointing campaign.
Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League table after suffering defeat in 15 of their 29 matches this season.
Postecoglou has faced sack threats throughout the campaign, but he could still deliver the club’s first trophy in 17 years if they manage to win the Europa League.
The north London giants are set to take on Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for a place in the semi-finals of the competition next month.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Postecoglou would likely be sacked if Spurs don’t win the Europa League this season.
Recruitment expert Mick Brown told Football Insider Andoni Iraola is Tottenham’s top target to replace Postecoglou if he’s sacked this summer.
The Spanish manager has been widely praised for his work at Bournemouth since taking over in June 2023, with his side sitting 10th in the table but only five points behind fourth-place Chelsea.

Tottenham fans drop ‘surprising’ squad verdict
Borson revealed he’s “surprised” Tottenham fans don’t want to sell the majority of their players after watching supporters analyse the current squad.
He told Football Insider: “I don’t think it’s a surprise that Iraola’s the number one or number two target.
“It feels like a very likely story if Spurs don’t win the Europa League. I think that feels now as if it’s the only thing that can save Postecoglou.
“I think if he did win the Europa League, then he definitely would stay because that would actually be a very good season in the end.
“It was interesting. I saw this video and it’s only one snapshot, but whoever Spurs’ equivalent of Arsenal Fan TV is, they were doing a review of the squad. It was a sell, loan-type analysis of the squad.
“What was interesting is there were a few players that they were saying they should sell, but they wanted to keep the vast majority of the players, which suggested to me that, certainly in their opinion, those players were of a decent level.
“I was sort of surprised by that. I would have expected that people would have been saying ‘Look, we need a really very big overhaul of the squad here with a lot of the players leaving’, but it didn’t seem to be the case.”

Tottenham could accept £50m Cristian Romero bid
Football Insider revealed on 31 March Tottenham could accept a £50million bid for Cristian Romero in the summer transfer window.
Atletico Madrid are the latest top side to be linked with a potential swoop for the 26-year-old centre-back.
Romero is believed to be keen to play regular Champions League football and fight for trophies elsewhere if Tottenham are unable to deliver those opportunities.
The Argentina international has missed the majority of this season through injury, having made just 17 appearances in all competitions.
