Stefan Borson: This is the ‘most likely’ scenario for Harry Kane after Tottenham latest

Harry Kane continues to be linked with a return to Tottenham following his incredible form for Bayern Munich this season.

Kane left Tottenham to join Bayern Munich in a £100million deal in the summer of 2023.

Football Insider revealed on 26 September that Tottenham are planning a move to re-sign Kane as they look to play on his heartstrings.

The England international has a release clause in his Bayern Munich contract, allowing him to leave for £54m in January 2026.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Kane wouldn’t return to the Premier League unless it’s in a situation where Tottenham are under new ownership.

What are Harry Kane’s transfer options?

Thomas Frank revealed he would welcome Kane returning to Tottenham, where the striker could break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.

Kane has also been linked with Manchester United following their problems in front of goal over the past couple of years.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I don’t think it’s feasible that Manchester United would do it.

“I know they’ve been talked about. He doesn’t fit with United with their direction of travel.

“It doesn’t fit with City’s direction of travel. It definitely doesn’t fit with Liverpool’s direction of travel. He’s not going to Arsenal. Chelsea again, they’re going young.

“I don’t think he’s coming back to the Premier League unless it’s to Spurs under a situation where they’ve just gotten new ownership, and I think even that’s pretty unlikely, so who does that leave in terms of the options for him?”

Kane admitted he isn’t currently considering leaving Bayern Munich following the speculation around his future.

Kane could spend the rest of his career at Bayern Munich

Despite his form in front of goal, Kane may not have many options to leave the Bundesliga champions after turning 32 in July.

Borson said: “I don’t think he’s going to Real Madrid. I don’t think he’s going to Barcelona. I doubt he’s going to Atletico Madrid. I doubt he’s going to PSG.

“I think the most likely thing is that nobody activates that clause and he ends up staying at Bayern Munich for the rest of his career probably.”

Kane has registered 102 goals and 29 assists in 105 appearances since joining Bayern Munich two years ago, including 17 strikes and three assists in nine outings this season.
