Stefan Borson: This is where Marc Guehi is ‘most likely to end up’ after Man City swoop
Manchester City are understood to have entered the race to sign Marc Guehi following the uncertainty around his Crystal Palace future.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider Man City are in pole position to sign Guehi despite the interest from several other clubs.
Guehi’s proposed move to Liverpool collapsed on deadline day in the recent summer transfer window.
Palace want to avoid losing Guehi on a free transfer when his contract at Selhurst Park expires in June 2026, with £35million believed to be enough to secure his services in January.
It is believed Liverpool remain keen on signing the England international, but they have to decide whether or not to return to the negotiating table with Palace next month.

Liverpool are front-runners to agree Marc Guehi deal
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Guehi is likely to sign for Liverpool despite the interest from Pep Guardiola’s side in securing his services.
The 25-year-old scored the winning goal in Palace’s 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday (7 December), helping lift his side into fourth spot in the Premier League table.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I think it’s unlikely City get Guehi. I still think he’s probably most likely to end up at Liverpool.
“We know that so much of the work had already been done. They did so much convincing the player to move and so much of the contract stuff.
“It’s all been done, so I still suspect he’ll end up at Liverpool.”

Guehi has registered two goals and four assists in 23 appearances for Oliver Glasner’s side this season.
Liverpool star could impact Guehi deal
Guehi’s immediate future could be dependent on what happens with fellow centre-back Ibrahima Konate at Liverpool.
The France international, whose deal runs out in June 2026, is able to agree a pre-contract with overseas clubs from January onwards, with Real Madrid heavily linked with him in recent months.
However, it has been reported Real Madrid have pulled out of the race to sign Konate as they focus on other options.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (10 December) Konate could still agree a new contract with Liverpool in the coming weeks.
The 26-year-old has started in all 22 of his appearances for Arne Slot’s side this season.
