Stefan Borson: Tottenham could spend £200m on new signings
Tottenham could spend up to £200million on new signings before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
Spurs missed out on a deal for Eberechi Eze last week, with the attacking midfielder instead deciding to join Arsenal in a £67.5million move from Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Morgan Gibbs-White decided to remain with Nottingham Forest and sign a new contract last month despite being close to joining Thomas Frank’s side.
Mohammed Kudus has been Tottenham’s most expensive signing of the window, having secured a £55million deal with West Ham for his signature.
Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai have also joined Spurs on permanent deals, taking their overall spending to around £125million, with Joao Palhinha joining on loan from Bayern Munich.

Daniel Levy set to make Tottenham transfer decision
This article contains exclusive comment from Stefan Borson, a former financial adviser to Man City.
Tottenham are still pushing to sign Savinho despite Man City’s efforts to keep hold of him this summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is aware Frank will need a larger squad to compete with the demands of the Champions League this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I think when Spurs get to the situation they’re in now, where their wage to revenue percentage right now on a run rate for the season must be even below 40 per cent.
“They’ve got probably 10 Champions League games between now and the end of January because it’s very unlikely that they’re going to finish below 24th in that table, so they’re probably going to have at least the play-off and possibly the round of 16 game.
“So, that’s 10 games in the Champions League. The squad is not built for that right now, and so I do expect that they will spend serious money between now and the end of the window.
“It’s not going to be that straightforward to find who those players are if it’s not Savinho. Who are the big players that they’re going to target to get them a squad that they’re happy with, having missed out on Eze and Gibbs-White? I don’t know.
“I still think it’s most likely that you’ve got £150-200million of spend and very significant wage commitment over the next five years.
“Otherwise, it might be financially quite a nice situation for Daniel Levy for this season in terms of presenting his numbers, but the fans would be very unhappy.
“Moreover, I just think the squad is going to be too thin for the season.”

Tottenham in preliminary discussions over Morgan Rogers deal
In terms of a potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 25 August Tottenham are readying a late-window move to sign Morgan Rogers after holding preliminary discussions over his availability.
The England international has been a standout player for Aston Villa since joining in a deal worth £8million plus a potential £7million in add-ons from Middlesbrough in January 2024.
Rogers, who registered 14 goals and 16 assists last season, has played the full 90 minutes in both of Villa’s opening two games of the new Premier League campaign.
