Aston Villa boss has revealed that Josh Onomah is fit to play during Saturday’s match against Barnsley, but has concerns over Mile Jedinak and Neil Taylor’s fitness.

Onomah, 20, has featured in six of Villa’s seven Championship fixtures but recently missed out on his side’s uninspiring goalless draw with Middlesbrough on Tuesday after suffering a knock during the previous weekend against Brentford.

However, the boss confirmed that the Tottenham loanee “should be fit” to play on Saturday after being sidelined for one match.

While the 20-year-old looks set to return, the manager revealed that he has concerns over whether Jedinak will be able to make an appearance at the weekend because of a groin problem, and similarly has doubts over Taylor’s shin issue.

The club revealed the team news on their official Twitter account on Friday.

The Tottenham academy star scored his first goal for the club during Villa’s 1-1 draw against Bristol City and was sorely missed during the side’s midweek clash with Middlesbrough.

Following an initial turbulent meeting, Steve Bruce’s side with face Garry Monk’s squad again next week in the third round of the EFL Cup.
