'Still hurting', 'Halfwit' - Celtic fans react to Joey Barton outburst
Celtic fans on Twitter have reacted with hilarity to Joey Barton’s latest diatribe about Hoops skipper Scott Brown.
Barton, appearing on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on TalkSport, claimed, as reported by the Daily Record, that Brown had ‘cheated’ to get Motherwell’s Cedric Kipre sent-off in the match between the sides on Sunday.
Hoops fans responded in kind to Barton’s comments, claiming that he still hasn’t got over Brown schooling him when the Hoops defeated Rangers 5-1 last season, Barton left Ibrox not long after that game, after falling out with then Gers manager Mark Warburton.
Here are some of the best reactions from Hoops fans on Twitter to Barton’s comments:

Joey Barton has the biggest brass neck around. Bummed himself up when going to Scotland & how much better he was than Scott Brown. Got schooled by Brown in 5-1 game & still talking about him. How he gets airtime I'll never know.

@Joey7Barton does his best talking off the pitch as usual! And there can be no bigger example of cheating than betting against your own team to lose!

Barton doesn’t seem to have recovered from his dismal performance when up against Brown last season, and has resorted to having petty personal digs at the player.
Whilst Barton has retired, Brown has went on to lead the Hoops to a domestic treble, a British record 69 domestic matches without defeat and the prospect of another domestic treble this season.

Brown has gone from strength to strength in recent years, whilst Barton is forced to resort to playing up feuds that don’t even exist on the radio. It’s fair to say that Brown won the battle between the two.
