Stoke, Sheffield United & Sheffield Wednesday race to sign Daniel Braut- sources

Stoke, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday have registered their interest in signing Norwegian sensation Daniel Braut, sources have told Football Insider.

Central midfielder Braut, 19, who can play up front, finished as top scorer at the recent UEFA Under-19 European Championship in Northern Ireland, scoring three goals in the tournament.

His form and potential has alerted Championship trio Stoke, Sheffield United, and Sheffield Wednesday as well as interest from Serie A and the Bundesliga.

The youngster is currently plying his trade in Norway’s second tier with Sandnes Ulf and he has scored four goals and provided two assists in 17 games across all competitions this season.

Braut’s exploits at the UEFA Under-19 European Championship are made all the more impressive considering Norway didn’t make it out of the group stage, exiting Group A in third place.

Each of the Championship trio earned impressive wins in their season openers – Sheffield United had too much for Preston North End whereas Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke beat Plymouth Argyle and Coventry respectively.

Braut isn’t the only youngster Chris Wilder’s side have been eyeing as they seek to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed (August 12) Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is undergoing his medical at the South Yorkshire club after agreeing on a deal.
