'Stop the world', 'Unbelievable - Leeds fans rave over under fire figure's star display for u-23s

Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rave over the performance of striker Jay Roy Grot during his match winning performance in the under-23 clash against Huddersfield.
The 19-year-old striker, who was a summer signing from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, has struggled during his first season at Elland Road, and has come under fire from some members of the club’s fan base for his sub-par performances for the senior side.
Having not appeared in any of the Whites’ last six league matches, with the likes of Pierre Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe chosen to lead the line, the youngster was given the chance to feature for the under-23 side on Monday night, leading the line against Huddersfield’s reserves, while the rest of the senior side jetted off to Spain for a warm weather training camp.

He scored the only goal of the game to secure a 1-0 win for the home side, and fans took to Twitter to pay credit to his performance, with many suggesting a run in the second string side is what he needs to build confidence.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Grot has a total of 15 appearances under his belt for the Whites’ senior side this season, three coming among the starting XI, as he looks to score his first goal for the club.
