‘Such a beast’ – Chelsea fans blown away by new Shim Mheuka footage vs Leeds U21s

Chelsea supporters cannot get enough of Shim Mheuka as the talented striker continues to impress at academy level.

The 18-year-old netted his 20th goal of the 2026-27 season during the Under-21s’ 2-2 draw with Leeds United on Friday, 20 February, with Leo Cardoso grabbing the other at Cobham Training Centre.

Mheuka is expected to be one of the next up-and-coming stars to set Stamford Bridge alight in the coming years, having already made eight first-team appearances.

Liam Rosenior gave him two minutes off the bench against Hull City in the FA Cup, with his real minutes still coming in the youth leagues, but that could soon change.

Liam Delap has failed to stake his place in the team, while Marc Guiu has done very little to impress since returning from Sunderland back in September, so there is space for the young gem.

Shim Mheuka is pushing for a first-team spot at Chelsea

Chelsea have more than enough talent within the squad already, but if any of the youngsters are to be given a regular call-up, many fans believe it should be Mheuka.

Watching his goal against Leeds, one supporter called him a “beast in the air” as he rose highest in the box to head home from close range.

Another dubbed him an “Endrick clone,” a Brazilian who is currently on loan at Lyon from Real Madrid, where he has notched five goals and two assists in six appearances.

Who else should Chelsea fans be excited about?

Estevao is the perfect example of Rosenior not being afraid to trust younger players at Stamford Bridge, but even so, Mheuka is very inexperienced when it comes to first-team minutes.

Reggie Walsh is another gem earning valuable minutes around the first team, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who was given 24 minutes against Ajax in the Champions League.

Another player in the same boat is Jesse Derry. The 18-year-old winger is massively exciting for the supporters after arriving from Crystal Palace during the summer.

Fans will have also noticed that Romeo Lavia was given 45 minutes against Leeds, as the midfielder attempts to work his way back to full fitness, having not featured since November.
