Celtic fans were given a surprise on Tuesday with the news that Stuart Armstrong will be out of action for up to a month after having a hernia operation.
The 25-year-old hasn’t had the best of seasons so far but he is still an important player who has played in 33 games for the Hoops this season.
The former Dundee United ace updated on his Instagram account that he had a “successful” trip, suggesting that he is on the mend after jetting out to Germany.
The only fortunate aspect for Brendan Rodgers is that he has a whole host of midfielders he can choose from to replace Armstrong for the time he is out of the side.
The Hoops will have both Scottish Cup and Scottish Premiership games during that time so it is important that the manager gets the selection correct to keep the Bhoys’ hopes of back-to-back trebles alive.
