Summerville, Evanilson react to Jaidon Anthony’s message as Burnley go top
Jaidon Anthony has received reactions from Premier League stars on social media after scoring the winning goal in Burnley’s 2-1 win over Norwich to reclaim top spot in the Championship.
Burnley took a massive step in their hunt for automatic promotion on Friday night (11 April), as they edged past Norwich to pile the pressure on Leeds and Sheffield United ahead of their weekend fixtures.
With the visitors sitting in a low block, the real first moment of quality in the match was produced by Josh Cullen, who found the run of Hannibal Mejbri with a pinpoint chipped pass.
The Tunisia international chested down before firing past Angus Gunn, despite being tracked by two Norwich defenders.
Shortly after came the match winning strike, when Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side surrendered possession too easily, allowing Josh Brownhill to tee up Anthony whose shot took a wicked deflection and into the back of the net.
The home side were on track to match an all-time Football League record with a 30th clean sheet of the season with 15 minutes to go, however Jack Stacey was able to pull one back for the Canaries.

The winger to play an important role under Scott Parker
Football Insider Verdict
Friday night marked an important victory for Scott Parker‘s men and one which will put added pressure on Leeds and Sheffield United prior to their games this weekend.
The 25-year-old played an important role in the victory, showcasing his ability to be positive in possession and take on his marker.
Against low blocks such as Norwich’s at Turf Moor, in order to break these systems down, it takes players who are not afraid of attempting dribbles even if it means losing the ball.
