Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris ‘on radar of two Premier League clubs’
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris will be in demand if fellow Premier League clubs decide to make managerial changes.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who has been impressed with Le Bris’ first taste of management in the Premier League.
Le Bris led Sunderland to promotion to the Premier League back in May, and now the Black Cats sit ninth in the table.
Sunderland lost 3-0 to Man City last time out, but Le Bris has led his side to impressive results against Arsenal and Chelsea this campaign.
Fulham or Crystal Palace move ‘could happen’ for Regis Le Bris
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks Fulham and Crystal Palace could target Le Bris.
Fulham‘s Marco Silva and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner have their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks that Sunderland‘s positive start to the season has helped Le Bris.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I mean, it is very important for Sunderland and I think it would be a sign of momentum that they’re rewarding for what they’ve done and how they’ve started the season.
“I mean, they’ve shown that if you have a good start, that takes all the media pressure off you and you can start to really focus on the football. Whereas now, Burnley, Leeds have had that pressure on them from day one almost, and it makes a big difference to the mindset of the whole club, the fan base, the players, etc.
“So I think Sunderland would want to keep Le Bris. You know, we talked about Oliver Glasner, we’ve talked about Marco Silva before. Those are the sort of managers that may get a move to other clubs. And so Fulham and Palace may be candidates for Le Bris.
“There may be other clubs who would look after him. Those are the sort of things that could happen.”

Sunderland set to be hit by major blow
Sunderland are 10 points above the Premier League relegation zone, but the Black Cats are set to have seven players at the African Cup of Nations.
That means Le Bris will be without key players like midfielder Noah Sadiki over the course of the festive period.
It will be Le Bris toughest managerial test of the season, with matches against Brighton and Leeds to come before the new year.
Sunderland though are set to retain their players going off to the tournament for the first Tyne-Wear derby of the season against Newcastle this weekend.
