'Awesome', 'Surely it's not happening?' - Tottenham fans react to shock training ground picture
By Richard Parks
Harry Kane has been pictured without a protective boot to fuel hopes he could make a stunning return for Tottenham – and fans are split on whether he should be rushed back for the weekend Premier League showdown against Chelsea.
Kane limped out of Spurs’ 4-1 win over Bournemouth a fortnight ago and was subsequently ruled out for around a month with ankle ligament damage.
The striker was pictured yesterday (Sunday) in conversation with England manager Gareth Southgate at Tottenham’s Enfield training ground without the boot he had been wearing to protect his injured ankle.
Football London correspondent Alasdair Gold uploaded the image of a relaxed-looking Kane on to his personal Twitter account and suggested that the 24-year-old could make it back for Spurs’ next match against the champions at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Protective boot-free Harry Kane pops out to see Gareth Southgate at Hotspur Way. A week today and it’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Will that ankle have recovered fully in time? As I wrote a couple of weeks back, he always would have had one eye on that game. pic.twitter.com/Q5rzR9x2Vw

Spurs fans are not yet convinced that Kane is either close to recovering from what was a serious injury, or that he should be plunged straight back into the team for such a demanding fixture.

One pointed out on social media that he would not get too excited until the forward is pictured kicking a football rather than leaning on a fence.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Surely it’s not happening? Car free is one thing. But match fit with all clear is prob 2 weeks away

What you don’t see is Harry is tied to that fence to keep him upright. ????

He probably wore that boot for a week it’s just precaution. I won’t get too excited until he’s seen kicking a football
