Svante Ingelsson now looks set to stay at Sheffield Wednesday after major personal news
Svante Ingelsson has been linked away from Sheffield Wednesday throughout the winter window, but now looks set to stay at the Owls.
It has been a terrible month and season for the Owls, who had to endure yet another defeat on Saturday as they lost 1-0 to Wrexham.
The Hillsborough faithful have already had to say goodbye to Barry Bannan this transfer window, who tearfully left to go to Millwall earlier this week.
With Sheffield Wednesday essentially relegated already, numerous other players have been linked away as they look to get their financial situation secured.
However, a departure for Ingelsson now looks unlikely over the next couple of days, despite interest from Millwall and Portsmouth.
Svante Ingelsson set to stay at Sheffield Wednesday despite interest
According to Alan Nixon’s Patreon on 1 February, Ingelsson could have left for both Millwall and Portsmouth late in the transfer window.
However, he has elected to stay at Hillsborough for one special personal reason.
The 27-year-old midfielder is expected to become a father shortly and therefore wants to stay in the Sheffield area.
This is despite the opportunity to join a promotion-chasing team in Millwall, with Wednesday demanding around £500,000 for his signature.

Ingelsson has been a regular for the Owls this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring once during this time.
What other business could Sheffield Wednesday complete before deadline day?
Unfortunately for Wednesday fans, if there is business to be done in the closing days, it looks to be departures.
Bailey Cadamarteri has been regularly linked away from Hillsborough in the January transfer window, with the 20-year-old netting twice this campaign so far.
This saw Hibernian make a bid for the striker in January. However, going into the final days of the window, he remains an Owls player.
More positive rumours have seen Sheffield Wednesday linked with Aston Villa attacker Zepiqueno Redmond.
The 19-year-old striker could move to the Owls on loan after his brief spell on loan to Huddersfield Town was cut short.
However, rumours surrounding the Aston Villa youngster have gone quiet in recent weeks, and it remains to be seen if Wednesday are still intending on making a move for the attacker in the final days of the window.
