Sven Botman set to agree ‘big’ Newcastle United deal – pundit
Sven Botman will sign a new Newcastle United contract before the end of the season.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.,
Botman, 23, signed for Newcastle from Lille in the summer of 2022 and has been a key member of the Premier League’s meanest defence.

The Dutchman has started all but three of Newcastle’s Premier League games this season and is yet to experience a league loss.
Botman’s current deal runs into the summer of 2027.
McManus claims Newcastle will want to tie their star defender down to a longer deal and reward him with a wage increase.
“Botman has been one of the signings of the season,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“He is in my team of the season already, that’s why AC Milan wanted him so badly. He just walks into wherever he goes and bosses it.
“He has no fear and can play out from the back which Howe must enjoy because he doesn’t really do long balls.
“His range of passing is just fabulous. Botman has a heck of a foot on him. Ther number of times he switches the ball ton Trippier without even trying…

“i think Newcastle will want to give him a new big deal. He’s proved he can do it in the Prem now and he knows what he is worth to Newcastle.
“I would expect that to be done soon, before wheels get put in motion.”
