Swansea City set £15m Zan Vipotnik valuation as Brighton join Premier League transfer race

Swansea City have placed a £15m price tag on striker Zan Vipotnik amid growing interest from Brighton and Hove Albion and other Premier League clubs, sources have told Football Insider.

The South Wales outfit tied the Championship’s leading goalscorer down to a new contract last month, but they are bracing themselves for offers for their prize asset in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Brighton are among those who are keeping a close eye on the Slovenian, and he has emerged on their radar as an option to strengthen their attacking options for next season.

Vipotnik has netted 21 times for the Swans in league action this season, and that has seen him attract attention from several clubs in the Premier League ahead of the summer window.

Swansea are now ready to field that interest, but are keen to ensure that they make signficant financial gains from any deal that takes place.

Who else has Zan Vipotnik been linked with?

Vipotnik is in just his second season in the EFL, but he has quickly established himself as one of the most dangerous frontmen below the Premier League.

He netted seven goals in his debut campaign for Swansea last year, but he has taken his game to new heights this term, with no one in the division able to match his goalscoring return.

That has been enough for Brighton to begin pursuing him ahead of the window, while there have also been links with the likes of Leeds United and West Ham in recent months.

The Seagulls are the latest outfit to join the race to sign the former Bordeaux man, who is outperforming his xG by almost 10 goals at the moment.

Vipotnik made the move to Swansea on a free transfer when he left Bordeaux back in 2024, and they have now got their eyes set on a huge profit for the frontman.

Interest is mounting from across the Premier League, but Swansea’s recent new contract has ensured that they are well-placed to sanction a sale on their terms.

Fabian Hurzeler could be tempted by Brighton exit offer

Brighton are already lining up their next round of transfer business, but they are still facing uncertainty surrounding the future of their manager Fabian Hurzeler.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Hurzeler could be “tempted” to leave if any offer comes his way from Bayer Leverkusen, with the German side heavily linked with him of late.

Brown noted that while Brighton are reluctant to lose the 33-year-old, it is likely to come down to his own personal ambitions.

He also added that there is a feeling at the moment that Hurzeler is definitely open to the idea of returning to Germany this summer, while a move to Leverkusen would likely be set to see him manage in a European competition next term.
