Swansea City submit Adama Sidibeh bid after Derby reveal – sources

Swansea City have submitted an offer for St Johnstone striker Adama Sidibeh, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed in May that Burnley, Middlesbrough and Derby County are among the clubs plotting bids for the Saints star.

Swansea have moved to steal a march on their rivals by firming up their interest in Sidibeh with an offer.

Sidibeh proved to be a revelation for St Johnstone in the second half of the season after joining the Scottish Premiership club from non-league side Rylands at the end of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old scored five goals in 15 games to help St Johnstone avoid relegation and his performances brought him onto the radar of several clubs in England and across Europe.

He marked his international debut for Gambia with a goal in the 5-1 win over Seychelles in World Cup qualifying last month.

The centre-forward initially started life with St Johnstone on the bench but soon became Craig Levein’s principal striking option.

He scored three goals in the final three games of the Scottish Premiership’s relegation group to help lift the Saints away from the drop zone.

Sidibeh is under contract at McDiarmid Park until May 2026.

Swansea are yet to wrap up their first summer signing one month out from the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
