Swansea hold huge transfer edge over Coventry as Crystal Palace eye Jesurun Rak-Sakyi decision
Swansea City could be about to send shockwaves across the Championship by winning the race to sign Crystal Palace starlet Jesurun Rak-Sakyi in January.
The youngster burst onto the scene for the Eagles back in the 2023-24 campaign, when he made six Premier League appearances, but he has since spent plenty of time away from Selhurst Park.
Sheffield United had ran-Sakyi on loan last season, and Football Insider revealed back in September that the Blades were trying to strike a repeat agreement with Palace, but they were ultimately unable to do so.
Oliver Glasner and Co. instead decided to send the 23-year-old to join Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig, but speculation regarding his future looks set to come to a head once again in January.

Crystal Palace set for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi recall as Coventry eye deal
Football Insider revealed at the end of the summer transfer window that Crystal Palace are open to offers for Rak-Sakyi in January, and it now appears as though his surroundings could be set to change drastically this winter.
The winger has enjoyed a relatively productive spell in Turkey so far this term, notching five goal contributions across 11 games for Rizespor.
However, Crystal Palace are now planning to recall Rak-Sakyi from Turkey, with enquiries having already been lodged by both Swansea and Coventry City, according to journalist Darren Witcoop via his X account.
Given the form that Coventry are in at the top of the Championship, you would usually expect it to be a straightforward decision for the parent club to send their youngster there for their next loan spell.
However, the Sky Blues are also chasing a move to take Romain Esse away from Selhurst Park, and that surely hands Swansea the edge in the race for Rak-Sakyi.
Palace will desperately want to avoid sending two similar attacking players to the same club this winter, as the direct competition for gametime would almost certainly see at least one miss out.
Rak-Sakyi’s Championship record to excite Swansea fans
Coventry’s pursuit of Esse could easily see their Rak-Sakyi chase fail before it has even truly begun, and Palace may value a quick deal with Swansea if it becomes achievable in the coming weeks.
Rak-Sakyi enjoyed a productive loan spell at Sheffield United last season, and he produced stats that would be certain to have almost every Championship fanbase excited about the possibility of his arrival.
The youngster managed seven goals and two assists from just 22 starts across the 2024-25 campaign, and Swansea are undoubtedly a team who are crying out for that level of creativity in their ranks.
Zan Vipotnik is the only member of their squad who has managed more than three league goals so far this term, and that has been a clear factor behind their inability to push their way above mid-table so far.
As a result, it would be no surprise to see the South Wales outfit try and put themselves forward as the ideal candidate to loan Rak-Sakyi in January, in a deal that could be hugely beneficial for all parties.
