Sources: Tottenham defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott set to join Swindon Town
Swindon Town are closing in on the signing of Tottenham defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott, sources have told FOOTBALL INSIDER.
The 20-year-old is well down the pecking order at Tottenham and the League Two outfit are pushing to strike a permanent deal ahead of Tuesday night’s (31 January) transfer deadline.
The England youth international has been a mainstay of Tottenham’s under-23s but the Lilywhites are prepared to sanction his exit as he is unlikely to break into Antonio Conte’s first-team plans.

A graduate of Tottenham’s youth ranks, Fagan-Walcott made his senior debut in March 2020 in the Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig.
He has not featured for the first team since, although he was on the bench for two of Spurs’ Europa Conference League fixtures during the 2021/22 season.
The versatile centre-back, who can also play on the right-hand side of the defence, spent time on loan at Dundee in 2021.
However, he made just two appearances in the Scottish Championship before returning to north London.
Having seen first-team opportunities limited for the young defender, Spurs have given him the green light to leave permanently.
Swindon, who currently sit sixth in the League Two table, are hopeful of completing a deal ahead of the 11pm deadline.

The Robins have been in the market for defensive reinforcements this month and hope Fagan-Walcott can boost their push for promotion.
Swindon have added Charlie Austin, Frazer Blake-Tracy and Jake Cain to their ranks during the winter window.
