Szobszlai and Kluivert react as Kerkez issues three-word update after Liverpool move

Dominik Szobszlai and Justin Kluivert were among those to react after Miloz Kerkez issued a fresh update in the wake of his move to Liverpool.

The left-back enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Bournemouth during the 2024/25 season, which led to plenty of interest in his services.

Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for Kerkez, as they looked to strengthen their options on the left of defence.

With Arne Slot‘s side moving quickly in the transfer window as they aim to build on their Premier League title win from last season, that is now a done deal.

On Thursday (26 June), it was confirmed that Liverpool had signed the left-back from Bournemouth on a five-year contract until the summer of 2030.

Milos Kerkez posts new message after transfer complete

Having completed his move to Anfield, it appears as though Kerkez is ready to put the work in to succeed on Merseyside.

Taking to his Instagram page the day after his arrival, the left-back posted a series of images of him going through his medical with the club.

The Hungary international then added a motivational caption to that post which simply read: “Step by step.”

Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai has often interacted with Kerkez during the season, and responded to his countryman again here by liking that message.

Some of the left-back’s now former Bournemouth teammates such as Kluivert and Evanilson were also among those to do the same.

Football Insider Verdict

It always felt as though Slot needed to strengthen his side this summer if they were to build on last season’s success, and this deal helps them to do that.

Andy Robertson has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid to raise questions about his future, and has not performed as strongly recently as in previous years.

Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas has never quite shown enough to suggest that he could be a consistent first choice in that role for Liverpool.

With the signing of Kerkez though, the Anfield outfit now undoubtedly have someone who has already shown he can fill that role at Premier League level.

As a result, this feels like one of several statements of intent that has already been made by Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
