Tammy Abraham sends AC Milan exit message amid West Ham transfer links

Tammy Abraham has taken to social media with an emotional message for AC Milan amid links with a summer move to West Ham.

The former Chelsea striker joined AC Milan on loan from AS Roma last summer, going on to score 10 goals in 44 appearances despite Santiago Gimenez and Luka Jovic being available up front.

He has long been linked with a move back to England, even with Everton, due to The Friedkin Group’s takeover on Merseyside, but Mick Brown told Football Insider in May that West Ham are eyeing a move for Abraham.

Having last played in the Premier League four years ago, the 27-year-old has plenty of experience under his belt, especially in the Champions League and Europa League, which could be vital for Graham Potter‘s side next season.

Football Insider verdict

It has been a very difficult start to life at West Ham for Potter, already under severe pressure from the supporters, but David Sullivan and Karren Brady are unlikely to decide on his future.

The former Chelsea and Brighton figure deserves one summer transfer window under his belt before being truly judged, but with a lack of moves made in the market so far, there is a lot of concern.

With just five wins in his first 19 matches, the Hammers ended the Premier League campaign in 14th place, just four spots above Leicester City in the relegation zone.

The club are yet to make any movements in the summer transfer window, even with concerns around the abilities of Konstantinos Mavropanos, Luis Guilherme, Edson Alvarez, and Guido Rodriguez.

While Michail Antonio has recently returned to football, the attacking lineup of Niclas Fullkrug, Mohammed Kudus, and Jarrod Bowen has struggled.

Football Insider understands that West Ham will reluctantly sell Kudus amid interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United, and his transfer fee could fund a rebuild at the London Stadium this summer.
