‘Textor out as Crystal Palace director as finance expert shares official document’
John Textor has now officially left his role as a director of Crystal Palace, as per documents from Companies House.
The involvement of the American businessman with the club has become an issue at Selhurst Park, after Oliver Glasner’s side lifted the FA Cup last season.
Crystal Palace have seen their involvement in the Europa League come under threat, due to Textor also owning a stake in Lyon.
The French side also qualified for the Europa League for the 2025/26 season, and UEFA rules mean two clubs with the same stakeholder cannot compete in the same competition.
Given Lyon finished higher in Ligue 1 last season than Crystal Palace did in the Premier League, it is the Eagles who are at risk of being kicked out of the tournament.

John Textor ends director role
If Textor was to cut his influence at Selhurst Park, it could renew hope that Glasner‘s side would be allowed into the Europa League for next season.
In the wake of that, Textor has apparently agreed a deal to sell his stake in Crystal Palace to fellow American businessman Woody Johnson.
Now it seems as though that deal is moving closer to completion, following the latest updates to have emerged.
Taking to X, football finance expert Kieran Maguire posted a document issued on Monday (30 June), by Companies House, confirming the termination Textor‘s role as a director at Crystal Palace.
That termination was apparently made official on 18 June, and highlights some progress has been made as the club aim to move on from Textor to do what they can to try to keep their place in Europe.
Crystal Palace director exit may not be enough
Football Insider Verdict
Glasner and his side were recently given fresh hope over their Europa League place, after Lyon were administratively relegated from Ligue 1 for financial reasons.
But with the French club appealing their relegation, a decision over the Eagles’ involvement in the competition for next season by UEFA which was scheduled for Monday (30 June) has been delayed again.
That does not seem promising for the Premier League side, since it hints the decision over whether or not Lyon are able to play in Europa next season based on their position in France will be decisive for Palace.
Indeed, Football Insider was previously told that Textor has missed the deadline to end his influence at Crystal Palace in time for the club to be eligible for a place in the Europa League.
With that in mind, there may well be a sense that this news he has ended his role as a director of the club is too little too late.
So after the joy of winning their first ever major trophy with the FA Cup last season, missing out on the reward of playing in the Europa League may cruelly take the shine off things for Crystal Palace.
