Thank goodness: Aston Villa fans react on Twitter as transfer of senior player confirmed
By Amir Mir
Aly Cissokho has made a loan switch from Aston Villa to Olympiacos – and fans on Twitter were glad to see the back of the senior player.
The club confirmed on their official website that the 29-year-old has moved to the Greek giants on loan until the end of the campaign with an option to buy the left-back.
Cissokho had lost his place in the first team in recent months with manager Steve Bruce opting to utilise 22-year-old Jordan Amavi.

With Cissokho’s absence, Villa now have only one recognised left-back at the club with senior centre-back Nathan Baker able to fill that role when needed.
One fan did question what would happen if Amavi were to get injured as he found the decision to get rid of the backup defender as strange.

However, the majority were glad to see the back of him as they pointed out his mistakes this season.
Cissokho gave away two consecutive penalties in October which led to Bruce axing him from the first team picture.
While others thanked god that the Superleague leaders took Cissokho away from them as they labelled him a woeful player.
One fan even joked by asking the Frenchman if he can play as a striker instead of the much-criticised Gabby Agbonlahor.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
I am proud to say that I was there when Cissokho scored the winner against Telford in preseason…did he do anything else in a #avfc shirt?

Good luck to Cissokho who has joined Olympiacios on loan – Another one I find strange, if Amavi was to pick up an injury who plays? #AVFC
