‘Thank you, Brighton’ – Nicolas Jackson responds as transfer confirmed

Brighton players both past and present shared their reactions after a confirmed permanent departure from the club.

Brighton are heading into their second summer under Fabian Hurzeler, following an impressive eighth-place finish in his debut campaign, just five points off a European qualification spot.

Hurzeler came under pressure from Brighton fans earlier in the season, particularly after a heavy 7–0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in February, but managed to steady the ship and earn renewed backing from the club’s hierarchy heading into the new season.

This summer, Brighton have already secured the signings of Maxim De Cuyper, Charalampos Kostoulas and Diego Coppola. However, the window has also seen several departures.

Joao Pedro made the switch to Chelsea, while Simon Adingra joined newly promoted Sunderland. Now, another exit has been confirmed, with the player taking to social media to announce his permanent departure from the Seagulls.

Pervis Estupinan confirms AC Milan transfer after Brighton exit

Pervis Estupinan’s future at Brighton had been uncertain, especially following the club’s signing of De Cuyper, and he has now officially confirmed his move to AC Milan.

The Ecuadorian posted an emotional farewell on Instagram, accompanied by several highlight videos from his time at the Amex Stadium. In his goodbye message, the full-back thanked his teammates, coaches, and the Brighton supporters.

He received an outpouring of support from both current and former Seagulls players, with Pedro commenting, “All the best my friend” while Julio Enciso added: “The best little brother, thank you for so much, an amazing player but an even better person. I love you.”

Other players to share their reactions included Billy Gilmour, Yankuba Minteh, and Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.

Manchester United had previously shown interest in Estupinan, but with the likes of Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw and new arrival Diego Leon already in their ranks, a move to Italy has now been finalised, with AC Milan also confirming the signing.

Brighton make key decision on Julio Enciso future

While Enciso was among those to bid farewell to Estupinan, his own future had also come under scrutiny this summer.

Football Insider revealed that Brighton were open to offers for Estupinan following his loan spell at Ipswich Town. A permanent move had been under consideration.

However, Brighton have now decided to keep Enciso at the club after he sustained an injury that will rule him out for around three months. The injury setback may offer him a second chance to break back into the first team once he returns to full fitness.
