Stuart Dallas of Leeds United leaves the pitch

By Harvey Byrne

Attacker Stuart Dallas has extended his stay at Leeds by agreeing a new three-year deal – and Leeds fans on Twitter are ecstatic.

The 26-year-old left-winger was going into the final year of his old deal and there were reports of interest from rival Championship club Norwich.

However, Leeds have now put a stop to such links with the club announcing on Wednesday afternoon via their official website and Twitter account that the Northern Irishman has agreed a deal taking him up to 2020.

Dallas has played a slight less prominent role to his one in the Leeds team last season with each of his league appearances coming off the bench under Thomas Christiansen in the current campaign.

However, it is clear that he is still a fan favourite among the Elland Road faithful with many on social media celebrating the contract extension like a new signing.

A number of fans expressed how delighted they were, while one supporter went as far as to claim it was the news they had been waiting for.

Dallas joined Leeds from Brentford in the summer for 2015 for a fee of £1.3million.

He has since played in 90 games for the club in total, returning nine goals and 12 assits.
