Danny Mills is “stunned” that Leeds United have been quoted £15million to sign Jack Harrison permanently from Manchester City.
The winger, 22, spent the recently-completed season on loan at Elland Road and has returned to his parent club.
Football Insider has reported Leeds’ interest in re-signing Harrison but a full-time transfer appears out of the question amid a Sun report that City want at least £15million for him this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-United defender Mills claimed there is no chance of his former club shelling out such a vast fee for the wide man.
“When you start getting quoted £15million by Man City for Jack Harrison, that’s just ridiculous,” he said. “There’s no way a Championship club will pay that.
“With most Championship clubs operating at a loss, and financial fair play also a factor, the chances of Leeds or anyone else in the division paying a fee like that is zero.”
Marcelo Bielsa is a big admirer of Harrison, who has just 18 months of senior football in England under his belt after joining City from their sister club New York City in January of last year.
He was loaned out to Middlesbrough for the second half of last season before a campaign at Leeds, in which he scored four goals and supplied four assists from 42 appearances.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that a Whites ace is quitting after agreeing a £13,000-a-week contract with a new club.
