Of all the legends who have graced the black and white stripes of Newcastle United, there is one name synonymous with the north east side – Alan Shearer.
The former England star is without a doubt the biggest name in the recent history of the Magpies as well as being the Premier League’s record goalscorer – a feat which has come under little threat despite the quality of the competition.
With 206 goals under his belt for Newcastle, he also tops the club’s goal scorers list, so replacing the icon that is Shearer was always going to be a near-impossible task.
