The end for Jack Wilshere? Fiery Kenilworth Road footage emerges as Luton Town sack looms
Jack Wilshere had to be held back by staff members and players at Luton Town after Saturday’s draw at Kenilworth Road.
The former Arsenal midfielder is under huge pressure at Luton after a third consecutive League One game without a win.
The Hatters have won just two of their last eight, and now find themselves losing ground in the race for the play-offs.
The temperature appeared to reach boiling point after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Burton Albion, in which Luton had led throughout before Fabio Tavares’ stoppage-time equaliser.
Wilshere was caught on camera as he argued with the home fans, before several players and staff dragged him away.

Jack Wilshere appears destined for the sack
Unfortunately, Luton cannot have too many complaints with the way Saturday’s game played out at Kenilworth Road.
The home side could not capitalise on the early lead they gained through Nakhi Wells, and Burton’s equaliser was exactly the sort of goal you would expect to concede when in a rut of bad form.
Luton had only needed to clear away Tavares’ poor ball into the box, but two defenders got in each others’ way and allowed the ball to bounce to Udoka Godwin-Malife on the edge.

He crossed to the back post, where Tavares had been left to score a free header after Isaiah Jones completely switched off.
The late goal was a huge blow for Wilshere, who took on his first permanent senior management role when he was appointed manager of Luton in October.
The 34-year-old could not have imagined that he would be involved in shouting matches with the home fans just four months later, however.
Wilshere’s argument with the fans was caught on camera and posted to social media by DeggyUK Sport, with the former Norwich City assistant coach appearing to be on the brink of the sack.
What Wilshere said after Luton scenes
Luton will host Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, before travelling to Port Vale on Saturday.
A fourth consecutive League One game without victory will make Kenilworth Road a fiery place, and could force a decision to be made.
Speaking after Saturday’s draw, Wilshere said: “We need belief, and I’m trying to give the players loads of belief. You can clearly see that at the moment they’re lacking in it and it then becomes difficult to play.
“I understand their frustrations [the fans], of course I do, because we have to do better in certain moments but right now everyone has to be together. We have to be together.
“That is the only way that we try and get out of this league, that we try and move forward, that we try and win games, that we try and get better performances. It feels difficult at the moment.”
