‘The Erling Haaland calamity tour continues’ – Fans stunned by what they saw Man City star do vs Tottenham

Erling Haaland’s form has been questioned by Manchester City fans after they let a two-goal lead slip at Tottenham.

Spurs came back to draw 2-2 with Man City despite Pep Guardiola’s side having gone into half-time with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

The result means league leaders Arsenal have extended their advantage over Man City at the top of the Premier League to six points.

Man City have won just once in their last six Premier League games, which has coincided with Haaland’s drop in form.

Man City fans want Erling Haaland dropped

Haaland started the season in tremendous goal-scoring form, but the 25-year-old has only found the net twice in his past 11 appearances in all competitions.

Omar Marmoush was away at the African Cup of Nations, meaning Guardiola has had little alternatives to pick from up front.

Man City signed winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth to try and add more goals around the squad, with some believing there was an over-reliance on the Norwegian.

Semenyo has made an impact at the club, with the 26-year-old scoring four times in his first five matches.

Man City fans though now want to see Marmoush given a run in the team, whilst Guardiola has himself come in for criticism for not dropping Haaland from the starting line-up.

Marmoush scored when given an opportunity from the start against Wolves recently, and he has been linked with a Man City exit due to a lack of opportunities.

Pep Guardiola could leave Man City

Guardiola’s future at Man City beyond this season is uncertain, despite the Spaniard’s contract at the club not expiring until 2027.

The 55-year-old has yet to commit to the club, meaning potential candidates are starting to emerge should he step down.

Former Chelsea boss and assistant to Guardiola at Man City, Enzo Maresca, could make the shortlist of candidates to become the next manager at the Etihad.

Man City have had a chance to observe Maresca previously, with the Italian also having been head coach of the club’s elite development squad.

Maresca won the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup at Chelsea, and also had a successful season in charge of Leicester City.
