The games Noni Madueke could miss for Arsenal as crushing injury blow confirmed

Mikel Arteta has been dealt a new crushing blow as Noni Madueke is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines for Arsenal.

The talented winger was substituted at half-time as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Man City on Sunday, 21 September, with supporters fearing the worst for the new signing.

Madueke had been given an opportunity to shine on the right flank, albeit under frustrating circumstances. Bukayo Saka picked up a new injury against Leeds United last month.

Arsenal remain without Martin Odegaard, Piero Hincapie, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz, and now he has added yet another important name to the list after the draw with Man City this weekend.

Noni Madueke ruled out with injury for two months

Speaking after the game [The Independent], Arteta said: “He had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue.”

And now Gunners fans’ concerns have been confirmed by The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

According to Ornstein (23 September), the 23-year-old faces around two months on the sidelines with a knee injury, which he sustained at the Emirates on Sunday.

The good news is that scans show Madueke avoided an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury; however, this means he will miss at least one international window with Thomas Tuchel‘s England team.

As well as being unavailable for the Three Lions, he will miss several crucial games for the Gunners, which comes at an awful time for the player after breaking into Arteta’s lineup.

Which games Madueke could miss for Arsenal

It is not entirely clear exactly how long Madueke will be unavailable for, but if he were to be sidelined for precisely two months, he could return for the North London derby in late November.
