The games that Archie Gray is set to miss for Tottenham after injury blow

Tottenham star Archie Gray has joined their long list of injured players and is set to be sidelined for an extended period.

Tottenham crashed out of the Carabao Cup to Newcastle on Wednesday evening as goals from Fabian Schar and Nick Woltemade saw Eddie Howe’s side safely through to the quarter-finals.

The North London club have been going well this season, however, particularly in recent times with their strong league form seeing them into third place behind rivals Arsenal and high-flying Bournemouth.

Thomas Frank has had to contend with a myriad of injury issues already in 2025-26, with James Maddison rupturing his ACL in pre-season, Dominic Solanke undergoing surgery on his ankle last month and the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin still continuing their recovery.

Youngster Archie Gray has now been added to the Lilywhites’ list of woes, despite his lack of minutes in recent times, and he could be facing a while away from the team after a recent update.

Gray faces a month out of action for Spurs

Gray has been a regular either off the bench or in Tottenham’s starting line-up since he joined from boyhood club Leeds United in 2024.

The versatile 19-year-old has played in a variety of positions, but has mostly been used in central midfield by Frank since his arrival in the summer.

Gray impressed in his last appearance against Monaco in the Champions League despite being used relatively sparingly so far this term with six appearances and three starts across all competitions.

The Sun’s Tom Barclay has reported that Gray faces around four weeks out of action after he picked up a calf issue against Monaco but was fit enough to make the bench against Everton last weekend, before missing Spurs’ trip to St James’ Park completely.

Tottenham boss Frank gave an update on his fitness after the game, saying: “He got a contact to the calf in Monaco. And probably in there or whatever also picked up a calf sprain.”

As a result of his calf problem, Gray is expected to sit out of around six Tottenham games during the month of November, with some huge clashes on the horizon.
