The games that Lewis Hall is set to miss for Newcastle as fresh update emerges
Lewis Hall is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering yet another injury in action for Newcastle.
Newcastle have had to cope with a number of their key players being injured already this season, and left-back Lewis Hall is one of those who has been on the treatment table in recent weeks.
He missed five months of action last term after undergoing ankle surgery in February, as Newcastle won the Carabao Cup without Hall and were able to qualify for the Champions League while he was sidelined.
The 21-year-old stepped up his return to action during pre-season ahead of 2025-26, but only made two starts in the club’s first eight games of the campaign before recently suffering another setback.
Hall suffered an ankle injury ahead of Newcastle’s last game against Nottingham Forest, with Eddie Howe unable to put a timeline on his recovery process, but new details have now emerged about when supporters can expect him to play again.

Hall not back fit until December after latest update
Following Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Forest at St James’ Park, Howe revealed that Hall’s issue was “not going to be short-term,” but admitted that he needed a second scan to reveal the full extent of the damage.
The Daily Mail‘s Craig Hope (16 October) has now reported that Hall actually suffered a hamstring injury at Union Saint-Gilloise on October 1, and was told at that point that a period of six to eight weeks would be his likely timeframe for a return to training.
That reportedly means that a return to actual action around early December seems most likely for the 21-year-old, which is believed to be good news for the club considering his injury history and the fact that hamstring problems can often take many months to heal.
The upcoming games that Hall is set to miss for Newcastle
Hall is a big miss for the Magpies when not fit, but the great form of Dan Burn over the last 12 months has cushioned the blow of his absence again, as it did towards the end of last season.
After a slow start to this campaign, Newcastle entered the recent international break with a record of three wins and just one loss in their previous five games, and they will aim to continue that fine form without Hall for the next month at least as he misses out on these listed matches.
