‘The sky is the limit’ for Eddie Howe at Newcastle United after ‘massive’ news – pundit
There is no reason why Eddie Howe can’t lead Newcastle United to the new heights many are predicting they will reach.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the former Bournemouth man’s new deal.
On Friday (5 August) Newcastle announced Howe, 44, has signed a new “long-term” deal with the club.
The Toon manager’s previous terms were due to expire in the summer of 2024.
Howe turned Newcastle’s fortunes around completely after taking the reigns in November, guiding the club to an 11th-place finish in the 2021-22 Premier League.
Kenny expects Newcastle to keep improving under Howe.
“It’s a huge boost for him, what a show of confidence,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He has done so well there since the takeover went through and the finish to last season. The whole club is on this boost.
“It was a massive boost for Howe before the season started and I don’t think there will be a single person who is against this move.
“He has done so well. He’s absolutely the right man to take Newcastle forward and the sky is the limit for him.
“He is so young and has so much experience already, he could take the club to where they want to be.”

Newcastle won their first game of the 2022-23 season 2-0 against Nottingham Forest thanks to goals from Fabian Schar and Callum Wilson.
The Magpies are next in action against Brighton next Saturday (13 August).
