Thiago Alcantara: Liverpool star asks agent to find him new club as exit nears – sources
Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara has instructed his agent to find him a new club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 33-year-old is not expected to be offered an extension at Anfield, and will leave when his deal expires at the end of June.
The midfielder does not want to retire despite his persistent injury problems, with Thiago facing an uphill battle to play again this season.
The Reds star has played a total of just five minutes in all competitions this season due to various injury issues.
Liverpool star asks agent to find new club as Anfield exit nears
Thiago joined the Merseyside club from German giants Bayern Munich in 2020, but his time in England has been massively disrupted by injury.
The midfielder helped the Reds lift the FA Cup in 2022, having clinched several honours at previous clubs Bayern and Barcelona.
He has 98 Liverpool appearances to his name and is a huge favourite of supporters due to his playmaking ability and passing range, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will reach 100 given his injury troubles.
Thiago was handed five minutes as a substitute in the league clash with Arsenal in February, his only appearance of the season so far.

And that could be his final display for the Reds, with sources telling Football Insider in February that the club are not expecting him to stay beyond the summer.
