‘This can’t be real’, ‘Disaster’ – Liverpool fans react as devastating news confirmed
Liverpool fans are “devastated” after Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Kostas Tsimikas suffered a collarbone injury against Arsenal on Saturday (23 December).
Gunners ace Bukayo Saka’s tackle on the Greek international forced him out of play in the 35th minute, with his tumble also swiping out Klopp on the touchline.
The boss admitted that the collarbone break was “really bad” for his side and that he didn’t know when Tsimikas would make a return to full fitness.
Liverpool are thin at the left-back position following Andy Robertson’s shoulder injury sustained in October, but the club are hopeful that the Scotsman will return next month.
The Reds came back from 1-0 down to snatch a point at Anfield in the 1-1 draw with Mohamed Salah’s excellent effort just minutes before Tsimikas was withdrawn cancelling out Gabriel Magalhães’ early opener.
Joe Gomez, a natural centre-back, was brought in as his replacement, but to the delight of fans, he successfully kept a clean sheet during his hour on the field.
But Liverpool fans are worried for the 27-year-old and have taken to social media with fear and sadness about his setback.
