‘This is amazing’ – Arsenal fans delight at new Emiliano Martinez footage after Aston Villa thrashing
Arsenal fans have been overjoyed to see Emi Martinez looking angry and arguing with some of their fellow supporters at the Emirates Stadium after their 4-1 win over Aston Villa.
Arsenal continued their Premier League title charge as they dispatched of high-flying Aston Villa with ease on Tuesday night.
Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Martin Zubimendi, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus gave them an unassailable lead before Ollie Watkins netted a late consolation.
Mikel Arteta’s side are now five points ahead of second-placed Man City, who have a game in hand to play on New Year’s Day.
Such an important win will have been as sweet as ever for several reasons, and Martinez‘s antics made it easy for him to be a target for gloating Gunners fans following the game.

Martinez was filmed arguing with Arsenal fans after the game
Martinez spent 10 years on Arsenal‘s books between 2010 and 2020, making 38 appearances for the club before his move to Villa.
His rise to prominence with the Second City outfit has raised questions as to why the Gunners allowed him to leave, but they do now have their own world-class goalkeeper in David Raya.
Villa were the better team in the first half on Tuesday, as Martinez’s time-wasting antics incensed the home crowd and went unpunished by Darren England.
Such tactics came back to bite him and Unai Emery‘s side as they were blown away in the second half, and the Emirates faithful tried to anger him by chanting: “David Raya, he’s better than you.”
Martinez soon wanted to get on with things as Villa went behind, but his urgency proved fruitless, and after full-time, he was filmed arguing with Arsenal supporters and having to be held back by a coach as he walked to the dressing room.
Arsenal fans react with joy to Martinez’s anger online
Martinez has been touted to leave Villa soon after he almost departed in the summer, and clashes like these will likely only heighten his desire to play in a different country.
Arsenal fans were revelling in his anger in the stands, and that only carried on as they took to X to react to the video of him being taunted.
One fan replied: “Think he wanted to get back on the pitch and play the half he wasted.”
While another said: “Even when he’s walking down the tunnel, he’s wasting time. Even when he was at Arsenal, he was wasting time on the bench. Emi Martinez is a waste of time.”
And one supporter replied, calling it “Sensational footage,” with numerous laughing emojis.
