This is why Arsenal are now confident Newcastle can break 25-year record vs Man City
Man City have not lost a home game in the Premier League to Newcastle United in almost 26 years.
The Citizens will host the Magpies on Saturday night in an attempt to extend that record further, which stretches over 21 games.
Arsenal will be hoping that Eddie Howe’s side can cause a gargantuan upset, however, as they look to restore their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have faltered of late, drawing consecutive Premier League games against Brentford and Wolves.
The two points dropped at Molineux on Wednesday were particularly damaging, with Tom Edozie’s stoppage-time equaliser now meaning Man City will win the league if they maintain a perfect record.

Newcastle United could cause an upset
Arsenal will not be happy that they are playing after Man City in a Premier League weekend yet again, but they must learn to deal with the pressure.
Any more errors could well see the title slip through their fingers, and they face a difficult test on Sunday.
Tottenham have a new manager in place for the North London derby, which will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Igor Tudor will be hoping to capitalise on the new manager bounce, with the fans surely set to play their part as well.
But there will be some glances towards the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night, with Newcastle going into the game looking like a team renewed.
Howe’s side had been under huge pressure, especially due to their torrid away form, but convincing wins over Tottenham, Aston Villa and Qarabag FK this month have looked transformative.
Interestingly, the change has come on the back of Bruno Guimaraes injury. The Brazilian is so key for Newcastle, but his absence has spurred on a slight system tweak, to magnificent effect.
Nick Woltemade has been dropped into midfield and looks to be thriving there, offering both a dominant physical presence and an extra attacker.

History remains with Man City
The last time Newcastle travelled to Man City in the Premier League, they played at Maine Road in 2000, and Alan Shearer’s goal was the difference.
The legendary striker had drifted off the back of his marker and was unmarked at the back post to head in the winner.
Newcastle have won away at Man City just once since then, winning 2-0 in the Carabao Cup in 2014.
Both Howe’s men and Arsenal will be hoping that they can repeat the trick on Saturday and write some new history.
