Thomas-Asante completes Coventry medical today after hijack – sources
Brandon Thomas-Asante is undergoing a Coventry City medical today after agreeing a deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider broke the news on July 31st that Coventry had hijacked Hull City’s move for the 25-year-old.
West Brom had accepted Hull’s offer before the Ricoh Arena outfit came in and ambushed the deal, agreeing on personal terms with the striker as well as matching the asking price.
Mark Robins’ side moved quickly to reach an agreement with Albion and Thomas-Asante is now set to finalise the move at their training ground.
Coventry City set to sign Brandon Thomas-Asante after Hull City hijack
Thomas-Asante joined West Brom from Salford in 2022 and has since established himself as the first-choice striker at The Hawthorns.
His 12 goals in 43 appearances made him the club’s top scorer last season, as they narrowly missed out on promotion via the playoffs, losing to eventual winners Southampton.

Coventry finished tenth last season after a disastrous end to their season in which they only won once in their last eight games in the Championship.
Now that talismanic playmaker Callum O’Hare has left the club as a free agent for Sheffield United, Thomas-Asante can add goals and creativity.
