Thomas Frank ‘facing serious sack calls’ at Tottenham after what he said
Thomas Frank is facing growing pressure on his position as Tottenham manager and has not done himself any favours with his press conference claims.
That is according to former Tottenham and Man United senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that supporters are running out of patience with the manager.
Tottenham lost 4-1 to Arsenal at the weekend, ramping up the pressure on the manager’s position as the travelling fans were left furious with his tactical setup.
Following the game, Frank pointed to the length of his time in charge and last season’s 17th-placed finish as reasons for their struggles, but many are not convinced.
While Ange Postecoglou‘s side failed miserably during their Premier League campaign, using that as an excuse for their current issues has not gone down well.

Thomas Frank slammed amid ongoing sack pressure
Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Tottenham fans have turned on Frank, in what is seen as a bad sign for his future at the club.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United, insisted that the boss must take accountability for his side’s recent struggles.
“He’s not done himself any favours there, to be honest,” he told Football Insider.
“At some stage, he has got to take some accountability and he can’t keep avoiding the issues and pushing the blame on to what happened last season.
“That’s happened now, it’s done, and the focus should be on what they’re doing now.
“It’s no surprise that the fans aren’t happy with that, because it was the manner of that defeat to Arsenal that was the main concern, they didn’t show up.
“That’s because of how the manager set his team up, not because they were poor last season.
“The thing is, that’s only going to add to the pressure on him, and he won’t want to alienate the fans because when that happens things can only get worse.
“Obviously, after a game like that, serious questions are going to be asked but I still think there’s time for him to turn things around, he just needs to focus on the here and now.”
Tottenham’s stance on sacking Frank amid fan frustrations
Football Insider revealed on 13 November that Frank has the backing of the Tottenham board despite some early questions about his position.
A heavy defeat against their biggest rivals has piled the pressure on from the stands, with fans expressing their unhappiness, but that has not yet impacted the board.
Spurs are keen to remain patient and allow the boss to get his ideas across, having only been in the position for a matter of months since arriving in the summer.

Football Insider revealed on 11 November that Tottenham are confident over Frank and believe he will turn around their poor form before too long.
Frank is juggling the demands of the Champions League as well as the expectations from the Spurs fans to be near the top of the table, and must get it right.
