Thomas Frank has already stamped his seal of approval on ‘unplayable’ Tottenham target
Tottenham could use the January transfer window as an opportunity to accelerate their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
Spurs were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Manchester United before the international break, as Thomas Frank’s men remained in fifth position, one point behind fourth-place Sunderland.
But despite being positioned strongly to finish in the top four, the Dane is already looking ahead to January by drawing up a list of targets.
Following Randal Kolo Muani’s serious injury against United, Football Insider revealed that Tottenham could accelerate plans to sign Ivan Toney on loan to fix their goalscoring troubles
Worryingly, centre-back Micky van de Ven remains their second top scorer in the league with three, and that is why more attacking transfers are mooted.

What Thomas Frank has said about Tottenham target Jarrod Bowen
West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen is one player on the radar of many clubs, including Tottenham, ahead of the upcoming window.
The 28-year-old has carried the torch at the London Stadium for years and remains their most invaluable player, which explains why they’re reluctant to sell.
Sources told Football Insider that West Ham would only part with Bowen if they received an irresistible offer, with no bids being lodged that satisfy their expectations.
But should the Hammers suffer a shock relegation to the Championship, then Tottenham’s interest in Bowen could materialise, and here is what Frank has said about the forward.
“I remember Bowen from the Championship. He has been their [West Ham’s] go-to, main threat, more or less from the first season he signed,“ Frank said in February 2025.
“He is the guy that drives the team, he can score all sorts of goals – outside of the box, counter attack, dribbling, finishing, arriving in the box – there’s no doubt that he’s a key player we need to keep quiet.“
The Bees boss also remarked that “Bowen was unplayable” when the forward netted a hat-trick against Brentford last season.
Bowen is tempted by Champions League football
At the age of 28, Bowen is approaching the prime of his career and he could hold goals and aspirations that are too big to achieve with West Ham.

Football Insider revealed on November 11 that Bowen wants to play Champions League football, and that is why a move to Spurs could come to fruition.
Although it seems unthinkable that the Englishman would swap West Ham for one of their rivals, it all depends on how desperate he is to play in Europe’s elite competition.
Having scored the winning goal in 2023 to seal the Hammers’ Europa Conference League triumph, Bowen has had a taste of European football and could go to the next level in the Champions League.
