‘Thomas Frank will be sacked after Newcastle clash’, this is why defeat is inevitable

Tottenham are set to host Newcastle United on Tuesday, in what could be a crucial clash for both Thomas Frank and Eddie Howe.

Both managers are under serious pressure going into the Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with neither able to hit the expectations set at the start of the season.

Frank has long been the favourite to be sacked next in the Premier League, after a terrible run of games at the North London club, and the 2-0 defeat to Man United on the weekend will have done little to help the Dane.

In comparison, Newcastle have also fallen down the table in recent weeks, with Howe’s side now 12th in the Premier League.

Now, with both managers in desperate need of a result, all signs point towards a win for the Magpies.

Eddie Howe has dominated Thomas Frank in the Premier League

Since Howe was appointed as the Newcastle manager in 2021, meetings between Frank and the Englishman have been a regular occurrence.

According to BBC Sport on 9 February, there have been nine Premier League meetings between the two managers, with Howe usually coming out on top.

Overall, the Newcastle manager has won six of the clashes, averaging 2.22 points per game, his best against any manager he has faced more than five times.

This statistic is simply appalling, with the Dane clearly incapable of delivering results against the Englishman.

Frank has already been tipped to be sacked at Tottenham if they edge any closer to the relegation zone.

With a defeat likely to meet this criteria, surely the manager will be sacked following the Magpies clash.

Tottenham’s record vs Newcastle explained

In recent years, Tottenham have had a diabolical record against Newcastle.

In their last eight meetings, they have lost six times, with their last victory coming in a 4-1 win back in 2023.

While Spurs did put an end to their terrible losing streak earlier in the season with a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park, a defeat does appear to be likely.

However, there is every chance Frank could be able to see out a victory on Tuesday, and it remains to be seen if he is able to finally end Spurs’ winless run.
