
Thomas Tuchel: ‘Disbelief at new England manager on arrival at World Cup draw’
England boss Thomas Tuchel arrived at the World Cup qualifying draw in Zurich and caused disbelief with his outfit choice.
He was spotted in a suit and tie to major surprise from compatriot Rudi Voller, the director of the Germany national team, noticed his outfit during the World Cup qualifying draw.
Despite not officially starting his new role the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager was present to see England placed in Group K alongside Serbia, Albania, Latvia, and Andorra.
Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol reported via X on 13 December: “England head coach Thomas Tuchel arriving at World Cup qualifying draw in Zurich. Germany team director Rudi Völler: I can’t believe he’s wearing a tie!”

It remains to be seen whether Tuchel will wear a tie during his matches for England.
Since Gareth Southgate’s departure, Lee Carsley has served as interim manager. However, his backroom team is unlikely to stay, with Ashley Cole already confirming his exit.

Joleon Lescott has posted in a similar move, reinforcing expectations of a new coaching staff when Tuchel takes over.
The Three Lions will return next year under an entirely revamped setup, with Tuchel officially taking charge in January. Former Chelsea assistant Anthony Barry will join him in the role of deputy [BBC Sport].
The schedule is expected to be finalised in the coming days with March potentially the starting point for the England qualifying campaign after two major finals and a semi final under Southgate without lifting a trophy.
