Hang your heads: Three Leeds players who most let Christiansen down – The Verdict

Mateusz Klich

Capped 10 times by Poland, Mateusz Klich was expected to be the central midfield string-puller who would provide a high quality alternative to Eunan O’Kane and willing youngsters Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira. After all, Leeds sold Liam Bridcutt to provide room for Klich to thrive. But the signing from FC Twente has not done the business for Christiansen, who saw nothing in training or his admittedly few first-team games to convince him that the 29-year-old should start ahead of O’Kane, Phillips and Vieira. Leeds recognised their error and offloaded Klich back to the Dutch Eredivisie in the January window
