Austria and Augsburg teenager Danso has a big future ahead of him, and Celtic must try to ensure that his potential is reached at Parkhead.
Rodgers really needs another centre-back option in his side, especially with a defensive injury crisis as Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko have all had their problems this season.
Celtic clearly want another player in that role too after a summer move for South Africa international Rivaldo Coetzee broke down after he failed a medical.
Danso is not a regular starter for Augsburg in the German Bundesliga, which means that he may actually be affordable for the Hoops and the promise of potential European football after Christmas and more first-team opportunities may see him want to make the move to Glasgow.
At 19-years-of-age, Danso now has two caps for Austria and while he was part of a defence that conceded two goals on Friday, the Bhoys should continue to keep tabs on this star of the future.
