Senior player must be axed: Three Rangers changes McInnes must make if appointed for Ross County clash

COMMENT

Rangers are hoping to make Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes their new manager this week, according to the Daily Record, as the search for Pedro Caixinha’s successor finally shows some signs of coming to an end.

McInnes could be in position for next weekend’s Scottish Premiership clash with Ross County as the Light Blues look to build on finally taking second position in the league.

The Light Blues have been dreadfully inconsistent this season – picking up three home defeats and two Ibrox draws – as their early season form has made a title challenge virtually impossible.

If McInnes is successful the former Rangers midfielder will look to make his mark on the Ibrox squad as soon as possible and could look to do it right away with changes against County.

With a little under a month before the transfer window opens, the existing players have a very short spell to impress and prove why they shouldn’t be replaced in January
