Three PL strikers Leeds could sign to keep the team flying if they lose Wood

Leeds ace Chris Wood has been a key player for Garry Monk this season as he attempts to help the club earn promotion to the Premier League.
Football Insider exclusively reported on Wednesday that the Merseyside giants are keeping close tabs on the New Zealand international.
The 25-year-old is rated in the £15million bracket by the Yorkshire giants even though he has spent most of his career in the Championship and only scored one Premier League goal.
Here, Football Insider takes a look at which three players the Yorkshire club could target in the summer if they lose their star man.
Troy Deeney – The 28-year-old will not be the first name on supporters lips but he is of similar quality to Wood. He is a tough and proven performer in the Premier League and has scored a hatful of goals in the Championship. What division Leeds are in next season will play a big part in who they can and cannot recruit.

Wilfred Bony – He is currently out of the first-team picture at Premier League outfit Stoke and recently expressed his frustration at the lack of regular football. Bony is a player that won’t drop down a division, but if the Whites are in the top tier, he is a player they could target. He has the pace, power and all-round ability to play in Monk’s favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.
Connor Wickham – Currently on the sidelines with injury, Wickham has failed to deliver the goods on a regular basis in the top flight. If the Whites are still in the Championship, when fit, he is a player worth investing in. He has all the attributes to succeed and more importantly at 23-years-old, he has time on his side. Not only that, Wickham is another player who has similar qualities to Wood and would fit perfectly into Monk’s plans.
