Three strikers Newcastle are considering after fatal Benjamin Sesko blow
Newcastle United’s transfer window continues to worsen with another club set to sign one of their top targets.
The Toon have already missed out on James Trafford, Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike to Premier League rivals.
Star Alexander Isak is also set to leave the club, and following the departure of Callum Wilson, Eddie Howe is short of options up-front.
The Athletic [6 August] reported that Manchester United were “closing in on a deal” for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and so manager Howe may have to turn to other targets instead.
Close the deal on Brentford ace

Brentford forward Yoane Wissa is pushing for a move away from the West London club to Newcastle, so the Toon should now close the deal and sign the 28-year-old.
Wissa is a versatile operator and netted 19 Premier League goals last season and clearly wants to leave Brentford.
The Bees have rejected a bid already from Newcastle, and there seems little point in the club keeping Wissa so this deal could be completed soon.
Sign German wildcard
Newcastle have expressed an interest in Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade and now Man United looked to have gotten Sesko, the Red Devils may pull out of the race.
Bayern Munich also explored a move before signing Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, so the path is clear for Newcastle to make an unrivaled bid.

The 23-year-old would be available for £40million, a cheaper alternative to Bundesliga rival Sesko and only a year older.
Woltemade can also play attacking midfield, strengthening Howe’s tactical hand during games.
Capture Villa striker

Ollie Watkins has already been lined up as a back-up option should Newcastle not get Sesko, which is the position they now find themselves in.
The 29-year-old would have little re-sale value, but he hit 16 Premier League goals last season and is a pacey striker able to hurt teams on the counter-attack.
This move could be sped up by the news from BBC Sport [August 5] that Villa have agreed a deal for Nice striker Evann Guessand, who was as exclusively revealed by Football Insider also a target for Crystal Palace.
As Villa have sourced a replacement, Unai Emery could sanction a move for Watkins if the price is right.
